Parking Lots at Wolf Creek Ski Area

Free Parking and Parking Shuttles

There are several lots with ample paved parking for guests visiting Wolf Creek Ski Area.  Complimentary shuttles to the Ticket Office from the lower parking lots are provided to guests.  Parking Attendants will assist and direct guests as where to park upon arrival.

All parking lot gates are locked after operations for the day are completed.

4x4 Lot:

  • Access is to the right of entrance
  • Guests should be driving a 4-wheel drive vehicle
  • Guests can ski back to car via 4x4 trail

Upper Lot:

  • Located directly below Ticket Office, Prospector Grill & Sports Center

Handicap Parking:

  • Located outside of First Aid Room (FAR) - Lower Level of Base Camp
  • Base Camp offers elevator access

Lower Lot:

  • Located below the Upper Lot
  • Stay left when coming in entrance
  • Location of EV Charging Station
  • Serviced by shuttle buses

Alberta Lot:

  • Parking lot after Lower Lot (Southeast)
  • Offers Nordic Trail access at end of lot
  • Pass Creek Yurt parking

Holiday/Overflow Parking Lots

These parking lots are not utilized daily, but are used over holidays and busy days.  Shuttle service is frequent for guests who are parked in these three lots.

Tranquility Lots:

  • Access is to the far left of entrance - through the red gate
  • Has an upper and lower section
  • Upper Tranquility Lot also provides Nordic Access

Snow Shed (Overflow) Lot:

  • Located a short distance East of the Ski Area on U.S. Hwy. 160
  • Only lot guests can stay overnight
    •   Please see overnight parking below

Electric Vehicle Charging Stations

Wolf Creek, already known for going solar and being a leader in sustainable business practices, constructed an onsite EV charging station in the summer of 2021.  The ChargePoint Charging Station is located in the Lower Parking Lot.  Upon arrival, parking attendants will direct you to the station.  The charging station offers five connections with one being Level 3 (fast charge) and the remaining four being Level 2 (medium charge).

  • A state of the art metering system was purchased and installed this off-season to allow discounted rates during specific times of the day for guests and commuters wishing to charge their electric vehicle

  • Review charging station prior to visit in case you need an adapter

Overnight Parking

No vehicles are permitted to stay overnight in any parking lots, with the exception of the Snowshed (Overflow) Lot.  Guests who are having car problems should go to the Ticket Office for assistance.

Wolf Creek Ski Area in conjunction with the United States Forest Service have developed the following policies & procedures:

  • All Wolf Creek Ski Area parking lots are located within Wolf Creek’s Special Use Permit
  • Per 36 CFR261.50 (a) there is a permanent closure to all motorized vehicles within the Special Use Permit
  • Section G of Special Use Permit refers to the non-exclusive use of the permit; as long as it is consistent with the intended use of the permit
    • Non-motorized winter recreational use
  • Equitable parking options for guests while allowing for some flexibility to staff to operate safely during inclement weather and during peak visitation days
  • All overnight or extra early visitors will be directed to Snow Shed/Overflow Parking Lot to either spend the night or to wait until snow removal operations are completed in the upper parking lots
  • Adequate sanitation such as portable latrines are required to stay overnight
  • Guests may be asked to move from time to time for snow removal operations
  • All oversize vehicles and vehicles towing trailers will be asked to park in Snow Shed/Overflow Parking Lot regardless of whether they intend to spend the night or just visit for the day
  • If it is determined that a storm cycle of great intensity and duration is eminent, Wolf Creek will post a closure here and the homepage that there will be no overnight parking allowed to accommodate the safe operations of the snow removal equipment
