Wolf Creek Fun Races
Wolf Creek Ski Area hosts a number of "Fun Races" throughout the ski season. These races are open to skiers and boarders of all ages and abilities, using the same format and procedure for each race. The races are FREE for any ticket holder from the age of 3 up to 65 and over. There are 123 different age brackets for each gender. Registration is normally from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the Prospector (the lower lodge). Registration is also available on top of the course from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Each skier is assigned a number which should be visible when racing on the course. Skiers can also sign up on the top of the course after 11:30 AM. Races start at 11:00 AM. The course closes at
1:00 PM or earlier depending on the number of racers.
The race course is set up in a dual format, one red course and one blue course. Racers must take one run on each course to use their fastest time for winning in their age bracket. Racers are competing for first, second, and third place in their own age brackets.
Awards are presented at 3:30 PM on the Sundeck of the Wolf Creek Lodge (the main day lodge). Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals are presented accordingly. Each skier/boarder that races will have their time recorded to see how they've placed in their age bracket.
